Artolution is a community-based public art organization that seeks to ignite positive social change through collaborative art-making. Our teaching artists, many of whom are refugees or from marginalized communities themselves, are currently leading programs year-round in some of the world’s most desperate environments, affecting the lives of thousands of children and families. We work in refugee camps for the Syrian, Rohingya and South Sudanese peoples, as well as communities affected by trauma in Colombia, Brazil, the United States and beyond. Our programs focus on healing, building healthy relationships, and addressing critical social issues. Our artists guide participants through the process of creating their own murals, performances and sculptures that explore their lives and their dreams for the future. We believe that through the process of creating collaborative art, diverse communities can come together in times of conflict and social turmoil to address the challenges they face together.
